Second stage of Melbourne Square to be launched next month
Yarra Park City’s Melbourne Square, located in the Southbank of Melbourne, has been a highly successful $2.6 billion freehold development since it launched in 2017. With the first stage already completed and handed over in March 2021, Yarra Park City’s CEO Woon Chong Boon has revealed that the developer plans to officially launch the second stage, a 73-storey tower called Blvd, next month.
Soft-launched in May, Blvd has a GDV of RM2 billion and is expected to be completed by 2026 – boasting 591 units with built-ups ranging from 50 to 177 sq m and selling for A$517,000 to A$3.2 million. Bookings from the Australian market have already reached 30%. Facilities such as an outdoor park, a 25m swimming pool, a spa and sauna, a gymnasium, a simulator room, a cinema and a karaoke room will occupy two floors, and a co-working space will be available to all residents on level 55.
In the face of a post-Covid world, Yarra Park City is set to enrol in the platinum rating of WELL certification, to feature holistic sustainability solutions such as improved insulation in walls and ceilings for better thermal and acoustic comfort, electric vehicle charging and smart-home automation. Woon explains, “It is very important as we have seen a trend in the post-Covid-19 world where people are leaning towards wellness. Wellness has moved from a ‘nice to have’ to a ‘must have’ in people’s day-to-day lives.”
