Angelyn Wong relishes transforming small spaces into welcoming homes

Amidst this academic rich environment, Tampines North MRT Condo offers luxurious and modern residential living within the vicinity, providing comfortable convenience to students who are studying at Temasek Polytechnic.

After graduating from university with an interest in interior design, Angelyn Wong decided to embark upon a journey with Rezt+Relax. She had no experience in the field, but the thought of bringing joy to clients through a home tailored to their individual needs was incredibly appealing to her.

Requesting to be taken under the wing of one of the firm’s creative leads, Angelyn spent a year as an apprentice. By the end of it, she was ready to take on her own projects. 12 years later, Angelyn is still at Rezt+Relax as a senior designer and as committed as ever to her work.

Angelyn frequently works on interiors of smaller apartments, a particular challenge in the cities with high populations, such as Singapore. Clients typically request for ample built-in storage, which inevitably has a negative effect on the available floor space. This didn’t phase Angelyn however, who was determined to become creative in her approach to creating the impression and feel of a larger space.

Recently, Angelyn designed a Gramercy Park unit for an overseas customer who intended to use it as a second home. With just a brief mention of wanting the home to resemble a high-end hotel, she was sent on her way to create the perfect abode.

Her approach was to explore various boutique and international hotel chains across the world and then striving to replicate that style and luxury in the apartment. Angelyn took a minimalistic and minimal intervention approach when it came to the bathrooms and kitchen – for added storage a wall was built to house the fridge, microwave and a standing bar.

Warm lighting and bronze tinted mirrors were chosen to create the illusion of a larger space, while walls and finishes were used to maintain a consistent thematic design with various textures, colors and hues throughout. An array of accents were added, such as emerald green armchairs, cushions and bar stools.

Finishing touches, including larger mirrors for the narrower corridors and custom-made wall displays for the living area, completed the luxurious look. The result – a stunning apartment full of grandeur despite its small size and perfect for the customer’s holiday break.
