Galven Tan leaves Savills to joins Knight Frank Singapore as new CEO

Galven Tan, Deputy Managing Director of Investment Sales and Capital Markets at Savills Singapore, is leaving the firm with immediate effect. Marcus Loo, Savills Singapore CEO, expressed his deep regret that Galven is moving on and thanked him for his contributions during this tough COVID period.

“I have thoroughly enjoyed my time at Savills and whilst regretful, I have decided to move on to a leadership role at another property consultancy firm,” Tan said.

It is speculated that he is joining Knight Frank Singapore as the new CEO of the firm. However, he declined to comment on his move. Knight Frank Singapore has been without a group Managing Director since the departure of Wendy Tang in June 2022, 17 months ago.

Tan joined Savills in November 2019 along with Jeremy Lake and two other colleagues from CBRE, Yap Hui Yee and Sophia Lim. At CBRE, Tan was the Executive Director of Capital Markets for 15 years. During his time at Savills, he made several significant contributions.

One of the biggest deals included the collective sale of Tanglin Shopping Centre for $868 million to the Tanoto family Singapore-based real estate firm, Pacific Eagle Real Estate in February 2022. Tan was also behind the sales of precedential sites to Hoi Hup Realty and Sunway Developments. These included Flynn Park ($371 million) and Thiam Siew Avenue ($815 million).

On the same note, Tan brokered the sale of four strata-titled office levels at the Solitaire on Cecil for a total of $162.8 million.

Jeremy Lake, Managing Director of Investment Sales and Capital Markets at Savills, commended Tan for making such contributions and ensured that the Savills team is going to remain focused on delivering to their clients.

“We are fortunate to have considerable bench strength and many of my colleagues, especially Hui Yee and Sophia, who have grown more proficient in the industry and have the ability to thrive in the space that Galven leaves behind,” Lake said.
